Pre-treatment for a smooth, even finish

Every item we coat is carefully pre-treated before the powder coating process begins, in order to ensure a superior finish. Aluminium items are acid-etched; whilst galvanised steel is degreased using T-wash.

All mild steel products are washed with phosphate to degrease them and remove any grease, dirt, or oxides.

This is performed in our wet room using a jet wash system, which means that there are no size restrictions – unlike other companies who degrease items by dipping them in a phosphate bath.

Next the item is primed with zinc before entering our spraying area for the base coat of powder.

The spraying process is undertaken in a dedicated enclosed area which is kept exceptionally clean. This keeps foreign bodies at bay and prevents grime pollution, to help achieve smooth, uniform coverage.

The item is then green cured in the oven at 140°C before the top coat of powder is carefully applied and then baked for a further 10 minutes at 180°C.

The result – an exceedingly smooth and durable finish.
